2.25MW Solar + 700kWh Storage + 750kVA Generator

Project Summary

Fraser's Property is an existing relationship and we have been working together for around 2 years. We successfully developed their NuPure Beverages project which was a 1.5MWp rooftop solar system. This project was delivered on budget and on schedule which led to being selected for this project.

We were key in assisting Fraser's with getting this project up and running by providing our engineering resource to enable the electrical infrastructure design, metering strategy, essential services power and how that was integrated into the battery/generator solution and assisting Fraser's obtain the grid connection approval with United Energy.

Hybrid control of all generation/energy sources to optimise financial outcomes

The project is a solar, battery and generator hybrid set up. The solar is used to offset consumption directly onsite, while the battery and generator are there to provide emergency back up in a power outage event whilst also accessing energy market services like FCAS and demand response in order for Real Utilities to access further revenue streams and provide the customer, Ozito with cheaper energy being the tenant on the site.

The project is unique as it is the first site Real Utilities had implemented these technologies into any of their C&I sites which is going to be a standard model moving forward. We worked with the selected main contractor, Hansen Yuncken and had to ensure we kept up with their tight installation schedule to make sure that the project was handed over to Ozito on time.

“We chose to work with Smart Commercial Solar because they have a really good track record, they’re a reputable company with a team of great people. In the tendering process they designed a feasible solution and worked with us to fit all the solar on the main roof.

I thought the use of the helicopter was really clever, it was really important for us to stick to the construction programme which was quite tight. The installation went really well and the team was really responsive during the construction programme. We are really happy with the outcome.”
