Western Sydney seeing big gains in solar adoption:

SYDNEY’S western suburbs are enjoying their moment in the sun — with new figures showing they are home to six of the top 10 areas for solar panel installation in NSW.

In fact the west now accounts for a quarter of the small-scale solar systems in the state — with Blacktown sitting on top of the pile with 18,459 installations.

“Over 380,000 rooftop installations now sit on houses and businesses across NSW, making up 1300 megawatts of capacity — that’s the equivalent capacity of a major power station,” NSW Energy Minister Don Harwin said.
