TWEED Heads Bowls Club has turned to the sun to cut their power bills by more than half.

In a big nod to the environment, the club has not only cut down on costs, but has also significantly reduced their carbon footprint after having 384 solar panels installed along their rooftop.

"We have installed Trina Solar Duomax double glass panels that will generate 155mw a year and save 150 tonnes of carbon,” Tweed Heads Bowls Club general manager Gerard Robinson said.
